Among Us is a game with a space theme, in which players take on one of two roles, most taking the role of Crewmates, and some taking the role of Impostors. The game features two teams, each with their own win conditions. The Crewmates win if all Impostors are eliminated or all tasks are completed, whereas Impostors win if there is an equal number of Impostors and Crewmates, or if a critical sabotage is unresolved. The game takes place in a space-themed setting, in which players each take on one of two roles, most being Crewmates, and a predetermined number being Impostors. The Crewmates' objective is to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; the Impostors' objective is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all of their tasks.
In Among Us, players take on one of two roles: Crewmates and Impostors. The majority of the players are Crewmates with a predetermined number being Impostors. The Crewmates' goal is to work together to identify and eliminate the Impostors, and to complete tasks around the map. The Impostors' goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all of their tasks. Players who are suspected to be Impostors can be eliminated via a plurality vote, except during a crisis. Crewmates win if all Impostors are ejected or all tasks are completed, whereas Impostors win if there is an equal number of Impostors and Crewmates, or if a critical sabotage is unresolved.
Gameplay typically revolves around two teams: the Crewmates and the Impostors. The Crewmates win if all Impostors are ejected or all tasks are completed, whereas the Impostors win if there is an equal number of Impostors and Crewmates, or if a critical sabotage is unresolved. The Crewmates have a variety of roles to choose from, such as Engineer, Technician, and Scientist. The Impostors have a much smaller number of roles to choose from, including Security Officer, Pilot, and Engineer.
The graphics in Among Us are in a sci-fi space theme, and consist of a variety of mostly ambient sounds. However, in order to play the game in a way that is more difficult, a setting in which a player is not able to see a player's avatar or chat can be chosen.
The game has a high replayability factor, with many players playing it for hours. The replayability of the game is dependent on the map chosen. Each map has a different set of mechanics, and can take a different amount of time to complete. In addition, the game has a diverse roster of characters, each with their own strengths to choose from.
